Hello Everyone!!
I'm sorry for the very very late blog entry, but I thought for a while I was going to stop writing posts. That being said, I find that it can be rather therapeutic, so fortunately for all of you I'll keep it up. There isn't going the be any set posting schedule and I'm thinking of changing the title and everything, but it's still going to be the same blog. Just me telling you all about my adventures at Sheridan and my thoughts on life in general.
Now it's already been three weeks, so there is a lot of stuff I'm going to have to leave out of this post. I'll tell you some important stuff and a few small stories, but don't expect as much detail as you're maybe used to. The first thing I need to say about my second year at Sheridan is the insane amount of classes that I have. I start around 9 in the morning, sometimes at 8 or 8:30, and I'm here till 6:00 every evening. Then, usually after that, I'm in a dance rehearsal and I generally don't get home until 8:00 or 9:00 in the evenings. On the other hand, I'm still very happy with many of my classes and love it, although I have to constantly remind myself "This is what I want to do... This is what I want to do!!"
So far, my favourite class of the semester and my new obsession is my Shakespeare class. We are working on Comedic Scenes right now from A Midsummer Night's Dream. For those of you who know the play, I'm doing the scene where Lysander falls in love with Helena and she thinks he's making fun of her. I find myself really wished that I had more than an hour and half of this class. I learn something totally new every time that I work with the teacher and it's always pretty hilarious. Yesterday, his feedback after watching the scene was that I try too hard, which I think could be a lot worse of a criticism.
Other than classes, we are also choreographing/directing a Dance Critique and an Acting Critique. Both are a part of your second semester, but you need to plan everything for them outside of all your other crazy classes. They also are supposed to be your challenge; you doing something that you're afraid of doing. So far, my Dance is looking good, but I'm a little lost on my Acting Scene. I really want to something Shakespeare, because its my obsession lately, but I'm torn between Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream and Lady Macbeth from Macbeth.
So there's my update for the time being. I'll try to be semi-consistent with them, but I definitely will not be writing one every week. I love you all and thank you so much for following even though I know I failed my first year at writing for you.
Lots of Love!
Finally we hear from you!! It's so good!! You would really suit Tatiana but Lady Macbeth would be a great dramatic challenge---GO FOR IT!!!! Love and XXX OOO from grampa and balletnan!!
